Despite an ominous forecast, the 26th Annual Chimney Springs Memorial Charity Team Tennis Tournament (we’ve GOT to come up with a shorter name!) was played without a drop of rain falling. Fun was had by all, but the most fun was had by our winning team, “The Greenie Weenies”, whose members were Karen Farabaugh (captain), Daniel Abernathy, Sue Allocca, Ralph Christian, Dan Clark, Jenny Lang, Chris Lydon, Lori Martinez, Lisa Mishoe, Heardy Myers, Patrick Pelt and Lauren Waddilove. Congrats, all you Weenies!

Thank you’s go out to my many helpers: Dave “The Money Dude” McDonald, Gary “The Fill-In Beer Man” Feldman (helped out by Dan “The Original Beer Man” Clark), Jeff “The Wine and Pop Guy” Bloch and as always, to Ann “The Ball Broad” Mabry from Prudential Georgia Realty for providing all the tennis balls for the tournament. A special big THANK YOU to Karen and Clint Farabaugh for graciously opening up their home for our Friday night party. Thank you Everybody...I couldn’t have done it without you!

I’m pleased to announce that the profit from the tournament was $340.00 and this has been donated to the American Cancer Society. Thank you to all our participants for making this donation possible.

I hope I speak for all involved when I say it was great fun and let’s do it all again on Labor Day!
