Revised Rules as of 2009
Our pool is for the enjoyment of all Chimney Springs residents in good standing and their guests. We appreciate your support in making it a safe and sanitary facility. Parents are urged to advise their children of the necessary rules and safety precautions.
- Lifeguards, with the support of the Pool Committee, shall have total authority at all times. See Swim at Your Own Risk Rules. When a lifeguard is not on duty, the pool shall be considered closed, and anyone in the pool area is trespassing.
- Regular pool hours shall be: Monday - Friday 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. during Swim Team season, Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. after Swim Team season, Saturday & Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Swim at Your Own Risk rules will be published in the newsletter and posted at the pool.
- Adult "lap" time will be: Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Children who are age nine and under must be under the supervision of an adult 16 or older. Non-parental supervision should be limited to two children.
- Fifteen minutes before each hour shall be designated as "adult swim" (except for the hour preceding adult "lap" swim, Monday–Thursday, from 8-9 p.m.), and everyone under the age of 16 must vacate the pool. The only exception is children two and under, who may swim with their parents.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the pool fence (this includes the pavilion area).
- When in the adult pool, children wearing water wings, swimmies, or flotation devices are only allowed in the shallow end and must be accompanied by an adult.
- Rafts, floats, and water-shooting devices are not permitted in the pools.
- Jeans or cut-offs are not allowed in the pool—swimsuits only.
- The kiddie pool is only for the use of children age five and under.
- Running, throwing of objects or horseplay is not permitted in the pool area.
- Bikes must be securely placed in the bike racks. Pets, skateboards, roller blades, and roller skates are not allowed in the pool area.
- With the exception of liquid refreshments in cans or plastic bottles, consumption of food is only permitted in the designated picnic area. Please dispose of any cans, flip top lids, gum, cigarettes, or any other garbage. Glass containers are not allowed in the pool area under any conditions.
- Maintain radios at a level of volume so as not to disturb others.
- Guests living in the metro Atlanta area must be accompanied by a homeowner. When the homeowner leaves, the guest must also vacate the pool area. Guests from out of town need not be accompanied; however, arrangements for guests of this nature must be cleared through the lifeguards. Residents are responsible for their guests AT ALL TIMES.
- Residents aged 10-17 may bring no more than 3 guests during lifeguard hours. The maximum number of guests is 6 per household.
- To prevent damage to the pool deck, only furniture that is provided by the Homeowners' Association is authorized in the pool area.
- Children who are not toilet-trained MUST wear rubber pants in the pools.
- Each family must sign the Swim at Your Own Risk (SAYOR) agreement to have access to the pool during SAYOR hours. No children are allowed to be unsupervised during SAYOR. A homeowner or responsible adult 18 years or older must be present supervising family members. All guests during SAYOR must sign a Waiver of Liability form and the form is on file in the Homeowners’ Office. Children under 18 require parent/guardian signature on the waiver.
