Greetings from the Pool,

July already!! Can you believe it? Seems like just yesterday we were preparing the pool for opening day! On reflection, a lot has happened since then -- the pump motor refusing to cooperate stands out for me! Now that we are a little further into the swim season, we find ourselves with a list of other concerns. As a reminder . . .

• No organized pool parties. This is not a new policy, but rather one established by the Board of Directors many years ago for safety and liability reasons. Lifeguards have been instructed to ask anyone setting up for a party to please leave.

• No eating on the pool deck. All snacks, ice cream, fruit, etc., should be taken and eaten in the picnic area. This policy has been established for health and sanitary reasons. Lifeguards have been instructed to ask anyone not observing this rule, to please move to the picnic area.

• No smoking or using tobacco products in the pool area. This policy has been established for health and sanitary reasons. Lifeguards have been instructed to ask anyone smoking or using tobacco to please leave.

• Excessive use of alcohol or intoxication is not permitted. This policy has been established for safety reasons. Lifeguards have been instructed to ask anyone who appears to be intoxicated or otherwise impaired to please leave.

• Granting permission to strangers through the pool gate is not permitted. Please do not open the gate for individuals you do not know, and do not permit your children to do so. If a key card has been forgotten, everyone should be prepared to provide identification or proof of residency in Chimney Springs to the lifeguards. Each Chimney Springs member is allowed to admit up to six guests.
